Message from Dr. Anderson - 8/27/21

8/27/21

Dear Parents and Students,

We have finished up our second full week of school and I want commend all of you for your efforts to keep our school year on track. As things seem to be heating up around the state with concerns of Covid-19 and other illnesses, I do want to share information regarding our protocols currently in place.

At this time, we are not making any changes to how we are handling in-person attendance. As of today, it is business as usual. Our goal is to stay in that mode of operation, but this requires tremendous assistance and help from everyone!

Absence Rate

By Nebraska law schools are required to create a plan of action if and when 11% of the student population is out with a similar illness. That action plan must be reported to the East Central Health District. The plan could include deeper classroom cleaning, moving kids apart in classrooms, remote learning for a short period of time, etc.

Multiple Cases in a Classroom

If we see similar illnesses increase within a classroom we will first inform the parents of students in that classroom to monitor their children more closely due to a spread of an illness and provide other hygiene and safety suggestions. Closely monitoring will be essential.

The key to keeping our doors open to as normal of a day as possible, and continuing with as normal of a year as possible, is making sure students who are ill stay home until they are feeling better. This will be the most helpful strategy to keeping all our students and staff healthy all year.

Thank you for your help.

Go Warriors!

Dr. Jeff Anderson, Supt.
