BUSINESS REQUIRING BOARD ACTION OR RESPONSE:

1. Budget Report

Mrs. Johnson will provide information about the budgets and funds for 25-26. This

will include some rough numbers for guidance on general fund decisions. It is also

expected to have a little better grasp for our fiscal year spend down/carryover.

2. Buildings and Grounds Report

A brief report will be given on the progress of our summer facility work.

3. Transportation Report and Special Action

A brief report will be given on how the new National Standards will impact our

transportation fleet in the 2025-2026 school year and actions to take in preparation.

4. NASB Regional Meetings

York: Tuesday, August 26 @ 5:00 p.m.

Norfolk: Wednesday, August 27 @ 5:00 p.m.

5. Board Workshop

Consider having Marcia Herring, NASB facilitating a 2 hour workshop to keep things

on track with an interim superintendent and to make sure the groundwork is in place

as we hire a new superintendent. Items to discuss: roles and responsibilities, board

protocol, governance, community engagement leading into superintendent search, and

board goals. Possible dates: Thursday, August 7; Tuesday, August 12; Wednesday,

August 13.

6. 2025 Census Report

Jill Anderson conducted the 2025 Census Report. A copy of the report is enclosed.

7. Meal Prices and Milk Prices for 2024-25

The Hot Lunch Fund balance for the end of July is $20,376.34 with outstanding bills

of about $7,000 yet to be figured in.  See PDF of Agenda for current and proposed prices.

8. JHFB Cooperative Agreement with High Plains

Due to the number of expected participants at Fullerton and at High Plains, it is being

recommended that we form a cooperative program for the 2025-2026 school year.

9. Approval of Staff and Student Handbooks

Enclosed is a copy of the summary of changes for each handbook.

10. Policy Work Session

Policies and Rules to review:

Meetings - Policy 2008; Staff Handbook - Policy 3026; Admission of Students - Policy

5002; Admission of PartTime Students-Policy 5003; Student Appearance - Policy 5031;

Student Fees - Policy 5045; Anti-bullying- Policy 5054 (Annual Review); Cell Phone -

Policy 5045; <Eliminate>Handbooks - Policy 5034

Some of these updates are a result of legislation that was completed after the legal

counsel sent out in May. They sent a new batch out this week. The Student

Appearance policy reflects revised wording that is more responsive to rural schools

but still meets the intent of legislation. If the board chooses to further discuss and take

any action on these plans, they may do so at this time. It is recommended to approve

as presented.

11. Approval of Nurse Contract with Genoa Hospital

We have a nurse contract with Genoa Medical Facilities for approval (enclosed). The

monthly costs have increased from $8,942.27/month to $9,210.94/month.

12. Option Enrollment

Three siblings have requested and been approved to option enroll based on the

continuation clause of option enrollment guidelines.

13. Hirings and Resignations
