Board of Education Meeting Minutes for February 13, 2023

February 18, 2023

The Board of Education met on Monday, February 13, 2023, at 5:30 pm. Members present:  Brian Aaberg, Brad Anderson, David Ciancio, Scott Russell, Beth Sonderup and Jennifer Wood.

Called the meeting to order at 5:30 pm. 

Recognized Open Meetings Act.

Recognized visitors.

Approved the agenda as presented.

Spotlight- -ESU7 Presentation – Dan Elsworth and Dick Stephens presented information about the ESU’s services and relationship with FPS.

Mrs. Carlson presented a school board appreciation and recognition project that she and Mrs. Aaberg prepared with our K-6 students. The project included discussions about leadership and the role of the school board.

Dr. Anderson and the buildings and grounds committee briefed the board on facility projects happening currently and possible facility goals for the future. Most projects will be put on hold at this time.

It was moved by Anderson and seconded by Aaberg to approve the 2023-2024 school calendar as presented.  Roll call vote: Aye-6, Nay-0.

It was moved by Russell and seconded by Aaberg to enter into Executive Session to discuss Negotiations Strategies for the classified staff at 6:15 pm.  Roll call vote: Aye-6, Nay-0.

It was moved by Russell and seconded by Anderson at 6:45 pm to return to Regular Session. Roll call vote: Aye-6, Nay-0.

Approved the minutes from the regular January, 9, 2023 board meeting.

Approved the Treasurer’s report as presented.

Approved the payment of bills as presented.

Adjourned the meeting at 7:01 pm.
