Board of Education Meeting Minutes for April 10, 2023
The Board of Education met on Monday, April 10, at 5:30 pm. Members present: Brad Anderson, David
Ciancio, Scott Russell, Beth Sonderup and Jennifer Wood. Absent: Brian Aaberg.
Public notice of the meeting was published in the Nance County Journal on April 5, 2023.
Called the meeting to order at 5:30 pm.
Recognized Open Meetings Act.
Recognized visitors.
Approved the agenda as presented.
Dr. Anderson presented an update on summer projects from the buildings and grounds committee. Those
will include finishing up the high school window project and a carpet project.
The 2023 FPS Graduation board representatives will be Brad Anderson, David Ciancio and Jennifer Wood.
It was moved by Ciancio and seconded by Sonderup to enter into Executive Session to discuss Classified
Staff negotiations at 5:33 p.m. Roll call vote: Aye-4, Nay-0, Absent-Aaberg and Wood.
It was moved by Anderson and seconded by Sonderup to return to Regular Session at 5:55 p.m. Roll call
vote: Aye-5, Nay-0, Absent-Aaberg.
It was moved by Russell and seconded by Wood to approve the Classified Staff Agreement for the 2023-
2024 school year as presented. Roll call vote: Aye-5, Nay-0, Absent-Aaberg.
It was moved by Wood and seconded by Anderson to approve the 2023-2024 Certificated Staff Contracts.
Roll call vote: Aye-5, Nay-0, Absent-Aaberg.
It was moved by Ciancio and seconded by Sonderup to approve the technology budget for the 2023-2024
school year as presented by Dr. Anderson. Roll call vote: Aye-5, Nay-0, Absent-Aaberg.
Approved the minutes from the regular March 13, 2023, board meeting.
Approved the Treasurer’s report as presented.
Approved the payment of bills as presented.
Adjourned the meeting at 6:24 pm.
